On the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Home of the Champions is more than a children's home. It is a place where vulnerable children find safety, belonging, and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
Led by Alfred, one of World in Need's Global Family Leaders, the home provides a loving environment for 32 children of primary and secondary school age. Here, children are cared for, supported in their education, encouraged in their faith, and given the stability they need to thrive. Many are able to attend school through sponsorship from World in Need supporters, opening doors that might otherwise remain closed.
Alfred's vision extends beyond the children's home itself. Passionate about evangelism, discipleship, and community outreach, he has planted 13 churches across Bangladesh and continues to invest in the development of local leaders and churches. Through the wider ministry, families receive practical support, communities are strengthened, and people are introduced to the hope found in Jesus Christ.
There is much to celebrate. Recently, two young people from Home of the Champions graduated from high school and are preparing to continue their studies at university. A new church building has also been completed, providing a place for worship, fellowship, and outreach in the local community. The children's home has been freshly painted, creating an even more welcoming environment for the young people who live there.
At World in Need, we are deeply grateful for Alfred's faithful leadership and servant heart. Through Home of the Champions and the wider ministry, lives are being transformed, communities are being strengthened, and hope is being shared every day. We are privileged to stand alongside him as part of our Global Family and look forward to all that God will continue to do through this ministry in the years ahead.
