Welcome to the Hope School in the city of Goma, near the eastern DR Congo border with Rwanda. The region has a history of devastating wars, rebel activity and natural disasters leading to extreme poverty, violence and abuse. As a result, the schools were set up by the late Bishop Desire and his wife Claudaline Muhindo. Claudaline continues to lead the schools with passion and dedication and through our relationsip with her and the Hope School, World In Need supporters are able to make a real difference to these vulnerable lives. Serving pupils at both the Primary and Secondary levels, the Hope School are more than just an institution of learning; they are places where hopeless lives are taught to hope again.

Welcome to Cypress School situated in the city of Baugio in the Philippines. For many years World In Need has been supporting the Cypress School, originally set up by our Global Family member Pastor Noel Bartolome. Focusing on the Primary level, the Cypress School is our smallest school, providing a safe place for those children who were not able to get on in the larger state run schools, enabling them to give time to the pupils, cultivating an appetite for learning, in a kind and supportive environment. Working closely with the local Church, they provide an education in a supportive and caring environment.

The school is overseen by our Global Family member Rev George Amoli, a trusted and respected member of the community. As a result he has overseen the growth and development of the school and accompanying boarding house. The school is more than just a place of learning; it's a sanctuary for young learners, many of whom are orphans as well.
