I am truly honoured to be joining World in Need to serve alongside our Global Family and supporters in building God’s Kingdom —feeding the hungry, caring for the poor, the orphan and widow, and making disciples of all nations in Jesus’ name.
In my first week, I have already been incredibly encouraged by connecting with Global Family members across Africa and Asia. Hearing their stories—of coming to faith, answered prayer, and God’s calling to serve their communities—has been deeply inspiring. Their faith, compassion, and action are a powerful reminder of God at work around the world.
A little about me: I was born and raised in Kent in an atheistic household. At 18, my basketball coach shared the Gospel with me, and over several months I began exploring Christianity. I eventually gave my life to Jesus and started building a personal relationship with God through prayer and reading the Bible.
A year later, I began attending church, where I met Chantal — now my wife of 15 years. She has a deep, compassionate faith and an incredible gift for walking with people through their hardest moments, truly weeping with those who weep.

Together, we have sought to live with a posture of daily surrender—asking God to guide our steps and use us to bless others. In His faithfulness, He opened doors for me to attend university, train as a teacher, and work in schools across London, Washington DC, Prague, and Chicago. Wherever we lived, we were actively involved in church life—serving in small groups, prayer teams, and evangelism.
While in Chicago, we completed the Perspectives course, which deepened our heart for global mission. We prayed a bold prayer: “Lord, show us where to go and what language to learn.” In His grace, God clearly led us to learn Arabic and move to Egypt—a remarkable journey I hope to share more about in time.
A year later, we stepped out in faith, selling nearly everything and moving to Egypt with just a few bags, trusting for God’s provision and direction. During our time there, we led teaching workshops, started a sports ministry for Sudanese refugee children, taught English in one of the poorest communities, led Bible studies, and supported the underground church.
When our time in Egypt came to an end, we returned to the UK unsure of what was next, but confident that God was leading. In His perfect timing, the opportunity to serve with World in Need opened up. Through prayer and conversations with the trustees (who share a remarkable faith and heart for Jesus) it became clear that God was calling us into this role for such a time as this.
I am excited to build on the life-changing work of World in Need since its founding in 1991, and I am grateful to learn from all the trustees and David Goodchild as he transitions from CEO to advisor and trustee.
Please do continue to pray for our Global Family—for the leaders, the children, and the communities we serve—that we would meet both physical needs and share the love and truth of Jesus in all that we do.
Sincerely,
