How can I really make a difference?

What and where is the need?

Across Northern Uganda villagers without wells need to walk long distances in the hot sun to get lifesaving water.

Why is this a pressing need now?

By supplying a well now it can save lives and reduce the risk of women being raped on the long and lonely road between their village and the well.

Why are WIN best placed to tackle this need?

WIN Northern Uganda have the finest construction engineers and admin teams that operate on the ground to ensure excellent construction of the well, timely and cost effective project management and ensure maximum benefit to the surrounding villages.

What will be the benefits of your work?

All the villages surrounding the wells will be able to have a basic luxury we enjoy in the west, water near our houses. Literally thousands of men, women and children will benefit from your gift and be able to safely drink fresh clean water.

What is the impact if we don’t do this now?

Women remain at risk, children still get used to carry their heavy water cans and villages remain dry and without all but as much water as each family can carry.

Why should people care about this?

We take water for granted, for others it is a luxury. Please consider this and help us fight to make clean drinking water available to all rather than a luxury.

How do you ensure success and accountability?

Our UK and Northern Ugandan teams are experienced in organising well placement and drilling - working with experienced teams in Uganda we ensure that never is a penny wasted in drilling a well.

How much does it cost?

The total cost of a well is around £8500 depending on local currency rates and current labour rates.
