WIN Poland reaches out to help displaced families

It has been almost a year since the escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict that has seen a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and millions of refugees seeking to escape the atrocities of war. Since 24 February 2022, more than 9.3 million refugees have crossed the Polish border. The 6 March alone, saw more than 142 thousand people enter Poland seeking safety and somewhere to stay. Refugees have often queued for hours to cross into Poland; they come with an uncertain future and little in the way of belongings.

WIN Poland was set up to help address the enormous need to support these refugees, many of whom find themselves looking for assistance at the doors of churches. Thanks to the generous donations of our supporters, the team in Poland have been able to work with some Polish churches in Poznan to distribute aid for these families. They work together to integrate the children into local schools, providing uniform and other essential supplies.

The children are enjoying being part of the churches and are settling into in the Polish way of life. Relationships are being forged that will last decades for these families that are receiving the love of the communities and churches in the area. We thank you for all that you are doing in supporting this vital work.

The WIN Poland team have sent photographs sharing the joy and hope that your donations bring. Please continue to pray for their work, the families affected and the ongoing crisis.
