Aid continues for Pakistan

Persecution and pandemic haven't stopped the ongoing ministry

In Pakistan, it’s more difficult than ever to reach out and minister to those in need, and it’s often dangerous work to undertake due to persecution. Meanwhile, all the key areas of life are affected by the pandemic in Pakistan - food and water, safety, justice, healthcare, sanitation, housing and education.

Hospitals often don’t have the resources they need due to national shortages across the country, and blackouts are common due to electricity supply issues, which causes disruption and concern for everyone. At the same time, the cost of living continues to rise due to the pandemic, putting increasing pressure on those trying to provide for their families.

More than ever there is a need for help for the people of Pakistan, and the World in Need team continues its ministry here through practical action, as well as raising hope and faith through talking and witnessing at a time when so many are living below the poverty line.

Our WIN representative recently visited a girls’ orphanage and school, delivering a large number of quilts, which the girls were delighted to receive as the conditions had been very cold. The team also distributed much needed food to 35 families to help alleviate some of the burden of their everyday struggles.

Ministry and mission continues however, to be undertaken well under the radar for the WIN Pakistan team as persecution remains a real and present danger for every Christian in the country. We would ask that you lift up the team in your prayers for protection, and that they would be supported through your prayer in provision for ministering to those in need. Also, please pray for the people of Pakistan, that their burdens would be lessened and that their daily needs would be met.

If you would like to help support World in Need's coronavirus appeal, more information can be found on the Coronavirus Emergency Fund page.
